Description:

Set in 1891, the film is about Holmes and Watson stopping a plot to destroy Britain. The film starts with Holmes on the trail of the murderous cult leader Lord Blackwood, who promises he will return from the dead and have his revenge.



Full Synopsis:

The action-adventure mystery Sherlock Holmes is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie, for Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. Robert Downey Jr. brings the legendary detective to life, and Jude Law stars as Holmes' trusted colleague, Watson, a doctor and war veteran who is a formidable ally for Sherlock Holmes. Rachel McAdams stars as Irene Adler, the only woman ever to have bested Holmes and who has maintained a tempestuous relationship with the detective. Mark Strong stars as their mysterious new adversary, Blackwood. Kelly Reilly plays Watson's love interest, Mary.
With a screenplay by Michael Robert Johnson and Anthony Peckham and Simon Kinberg, screen story by Lionel Wigram and Michael Robert Johnson, the film is produced by Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey, Dan Lin and Steve Clark-Hall. Michael Tadross and Bruce Berman serve as executive producers.
In theaters December 25, 2009, Sherlock Holmes will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in selected territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

From the looks of Holmes,
to all the action that will
be in the movie.
Lionel Wigram says
that they are putting
a bunch of fights in
this movie. which
would be unusual for a
Holmes movie.


Lord Blackwood, the
villain in the movie
never appeared in
the Sherlock Holmes books.
It is just another addition to
the movie.


There will be
a scene
where Holmes will
be fighting in an arena.
(Without his shirt!)
Which is
something that
Holmes probably
would never do.


There has been a
possibility of Holmes
and Watson being
"Homosexuals" in
the new movie.

Wow.... is it just me or is that a street pickpocket in those side pictures?.... I don't know if they made such a wise choice in choosin that guy to play the part of our Sherlock!!

Maybe the actors aren't right. I've read Sherlock Holmes and this supernatural plot with practically no obvious mystery is looking a little crazy...

This movie may ruin Sherlock Holmes as we know him - and all that gay stuff and 'rising from the dead' makes it seem insane. Holmes is too much of a gentleman to ever get into a fight unless he really needs to. I don't think Arthur Conan Doyle will enjoy this in his grave!

ive never read the books, but if rachal mcadams, judew law, and robert downy junier r in this film, then im seeign it!
